Yearby pledges to 'Canes

Joseph Yearby, Florida's No. 2 ranked running back prospect, was once committed to Florida State and now he's staying home to play for the Hurricanes. He's a five-star recruit from Miami Central.

The University of Miami landed a huge verbal commitment from local star running back Joseph Yearby (Miami Central).

"Joseph Yearby has committed to Miami," said Telly Lockette, Central's coach.

Yearby, 5-foot-9 and 190-pounds, is a five-star running back recruit and the nation's No. 4 ranked prospect at this position. He was previously committed to Florida State before opening things back up after the slew of assistant coaching changes in Tallahassee, most notably running back coach Eddie Gran.

This is a kid that's so deceptive. He's not that big but runs with tremendous power. Yearby has above average speed and quickness. He can run by you, around you or over you.

Yearby is fearless and a very instinctive runner. He can start and stop and start and stop again so quickly. He has uncanny balance and very good vision. Yearby has incredible footwork.

Yearby can be bottled up in the backfield and still find a way to make positive yards.

Here are some high definition highlights of Yearby in action from the state championship game this past December.
