"It was pretty exciting to go up there and basically to see the snow. I ended up bonding with a lot of the players. I had time to bond with the coaches for like an hour. Not only did I bond with the coaches but the coaches wives too," he said.
Campbell said it was very exciting when his teammate, 2014 offensive lineman Mason Cole, pulled the trigger for the Wolverines. In Campbell's mind, it's a great fit.
"He pretty much felt like he was at home and I could tell. I mean I felt like I was at home too. That's a good pickup for them and now everyone is asking if I'm going to go with him. I just keep saying the same thing, that only time will tell, and I need to do what's best for me," he said.
"Time" is the key word for Campbell as he's got plenty of it before he needs to make a decision. Offers continue to roll in and he's quite excited about the latest on the list – the Fighting Irish.
"At first, everyone was just thinking they were overrated, but I can see that it's an elite team that played for a national championship, not every team can do that," he said.
"Coach Alford, he's a good person, not just a good coach. I'm trying to get up there early in the summer, maybe spring, just to check it out and just see how I feel about it. Before Mason committed (to Michigan), he said Notre Dame was a pretty good school so that makes me want to check it out."
Notre Dame is recruiting the versatile athlete at wide receiver.
What's next for Campbell? He isn't quite sure and doesn't have anything concrete oh his calendar yet. But you can be sure he won't sit still for long.
"Me and my parents are going to sit down and plan it out, but I plan on hitting up some of the Florida schools again, since they're all close," he said.
FOX Sports NEXT will have the latest on Campbell's recruitment and his travels, so stay tuned right here.
