DE Albert Huggins Profile
The 6-foot-3, 255-pound prospect enjoyed the message he received from the Clemson coaches while on campus.
"It's the education first," Huggins told CUTigers in a recent interview. "They really think about education. And also it's a good program, football-wise. They've got a good football team."
From Dabo Swinney to Brent Venables and Marion Hobby, Huggins heard from all of the Clemson coaches during the visit.
"I spoke to all of them, I think. They came up and talked to me a little bit," he said.
Not only does Hobby serve as Huggins' primary recruiter, he would be the position coach if Huggins were to ink with Clemson. Their conversation had little to do with football.
"Coach Hobby, we talked a lot about how education is so important, how football comes second," Huggins said. "That's mostly what he talked about. How you should really focus on your education, because if you get hurt or don't go to the NFL, you've got education to back you up."
South Carolina will host Huggins later this spring. And a trip to Florida for the Friday Night Lights event is scheduled for July.
With offers from both instate schools, Florida, Florida State and Alabama, Huggins already has plenty of options.
"All of them are equal. I don't have any favorites," Huggins said. "All of them are even."
As a sophomore, Huggins had 64 tackles, four sacks and three fumble recoveries [one went for a touchdown].
