Adrine Charged With Battery

Senior defensive end Bruce Adrine of Atlanta was charged with misdemeanor battery for his role in a June 15 fight in a downtown Athens bar.

The fight allegedly involved 12 to 15 football players and 2 non-players. Georgia tight end Randy McMicheal has already been suspended for one game due to his participation in the brawl.

Initially, no arrests were made but Clarke County Magistrate Judge Patricia Barron issued an arrest warrant requested by UGA student Amanda Kim, a former member of the Georgia Girls, an organization that assists in recruiting.

Kim is maintaining that Adrine punched her in the face and knocked her unconscious during the fight at the Classic City Saloon. Adrine's lawyer, former Georgia player Kim Stephens, says that the punch was an accident while Adrine was defending himself against Kim's boyfriend Jeff Thornton.

Adrine was booked yesterday in the Clarke County jail and released on a $1,000 bail. No court date has been set.
