Georgia OL gets first offer

Chuma Edoga was caught by surprise when an ACC school offered him his first scholarship. He talks about that and more here...

"My coach called me and told me that a coach from North Carolina wanted to speak with me. I called Coach [Walt] Bell and he told me North Carolina offered me a scholarship," Chuma Edoga told Scout.

"Coach Bell told me that they liked my explosiveness, my pass sets, and my size. It felt great to get that first offer."

Edoga had only received a couple of letters from UNC, so he was surprised by the offer. He does not know much about the Tar Heels yet.

"I had not even talked to them before, so I did not see the offer coming. I really do not know a lot about them, but I will be visiting them this summer now. I will probably camp there and check out the campus. I am looking forward to meeting the coaches."

The 6-foot-4, 265 pound offensive tackle out of Powder Springs (Ga.) McEachern is hearing from Auburn, Georgia, Ole Miss, and South Carolina.

Ole Miss was at his school last week to check on him and he plans to camp in Oxford later this summer.

For now, Edoga is open to all schools.

"It is too early to have favorites," he said. "Getting the first offer is like a burden is off my chest. I am excited about the North Carolina offer, but I am still looking at all of my options the same way."
