"I am just blessed to have the opportunities all the schools that have offered are giving me," Richmond stated. "Its great to get all the offers I have already but I know I have to keep working hard to accomplish all my goals."
Richmond has already been in contact with coaches frequently but is having fun with the recruitment process.
"I make sure to keep in contact with all the coaching staffs that have offered so far," he explained. "I don't have any favorites or anything like that so I talk to them all about the same. I call each coach that recruits me about once every two weeks. It's like a routine right now and all according to schedule. It's all fun but I know it might get hectic later on so I want to try to take some visits in the summer and fall."
Even though the Memphis native has no favorites, he was quick to point out that one of the offers held a bit more significance to him.
"I grew up a pretty big fan of Ohio State ever since I was 10 years old," Richmond explained. "They had guys like James Laurinaitis, Michael Jenkins, Troy Smith, Beanie Wells, and Brian Robiskie and so that was my school I always cheered for. That was an offer I really wanted to get so it was a pretty emotional feeling when I found out. I wasn't sure if it was going to happen at first, especially when Michigan showed interest in me before they did."
Ohio State assistant coach Tim Hinton visited Richmond over the evaluation period.
"Coach Hinton came by the school to see me a few weeks ago," Richmond noted. "He checked out a practice of mine. They really want me to visit when I get the chance."
"Ohio State would like me to be there for their Friday Night Lights camp," he continued. "I'd like to get up there for it too but I really don't know how often I can go all the way up there so I'm just not real sure if I can make it. I know I want to visit them for a game during the season to get a feel for the crowd and the stadium atmosphere. North Carolina is definitely another place I want to check out soon also."
