Davis Making Moves

FOX Sports NEXT has the update on Clear Lake tight end Jordan Davis from Houston, Texas. A 2015 athlete committed to Florida State, Davis has decided that he will check out a number of programs this off season and this upcoming summer. He just got back from his first camp this past weekend.

His commitment to Florida State is still intact, but Houston (TX) Clear Lake tight end Jordan Davis does want to get out and see a number of programs before it is all said and done, which is a long time from now seeing that he is a class of 2015 athlete.

As stated many times before, the Seminoles are his No. 1 school, but he does have some top programs since he has made a couple of trips to date. He now has close to 10 offers.

"I'm still open and young and want to look around. I have a couple of years so I want to see what other schools have to offer," Davis said. "I would say right now my Top 4 are Florida State, Texas A&M, Oklahoma and Texas. I could see myself fitting in at all of those schools and I like the way those coaches use tight ends. I want to be able to come in and make an impact playing."

He will likely get that opportunity as the 6-foot-4, 245-pound Davis has impressed whenever he has had the chance. Most recently, he was in Austin and worked out at the camp. Longhorn Digest publisher Kevin Flaherty made mention that Davis. Simply put, "STUD who ran a 4.7 (40-yard) and caught everything."

Perhaps that is all that needs to be said for all of the coaches who have stepped up with offers. Other than the schools mentioned, Davis said that Florida, Mississippi State, Arizona State and Notre Dame have extended offers as well in recent weeks.

Texas was his first camp stop, but there is several more coming.

"At the Texas camp, coach Mack Brown told me I looked really good and that he would wanted me to keep (Texas) in mind. (Assistant) coach (Bruce) Chambers showed me some new things that they are doing with up-tempo offense. I like the way they plan to use the tight ends more. My next stop will be to Texas A&M this Sunday. I also plan to camp at Georgia this summer and in July I will be going to Florida State, and maybe even USC."
