Pro Dawgs Preseason Roundup

Several former Georgia players participated in Week One of the NFL Preseason.

Colts free agent RB Brett Millican rushed 10 times for 33 yards and caught 2 passes for 8 yards in extended action against the Seattle Seahawks. Millican's best chance to make the roster is to impress on special teams. He returned two kickoffs for 41 yards with a long return of 23 yards. Seahawks FB Mack Strong gained 4 yards on 2 carries while catching one pass for 10 yards.

Jacksonville DT Marcus Stroud made an immediate impact in his first preseason game against the Panthers. He made two tackles, recovered a fumble and nearly intercepted a pass. The cast on his broken hand probably hindered his chances to make the interception. Panthers PK John Kasay was wide left on a 60 yard attempt. While the attempt was unsuccessful, it showed that Kasay is making a good recovery from a broken kneecap suffered during last summer's training camp. Kasay did connect on a 19-yard field goal.

Falcons QB Eric Zeier completed 2 of 3 passes for 25 yards in limited action.

Patriots RB Patrick Pass rushed 3 times for 12 yards and made one reception for 15 yards. DL Richard Seymour combined for 2 tackles against the Giants.

From Former Georgia and current Dallas QB Quincy Carter came in the game early in the 2nd quarter and moved the ball somewhat effectively, but it was obvious he wasn't throwing the ball with same authority as he was last weekend in Oakland. He threw several passes with a severe wobble and was seemingly hassled out of the pocket all night long. Carter finished the night 5-11 for 45 yards and an interception.

49ers RB Garrison Hearst rushed for 9 yards on 5 carries in his first game action in over two years. Hearst is showing good progress in his recovery from a broken ankle.
