Dean's List 2013 Surprise Players #5

Dean Legge counts down his top five Georgia players who will surprise during the 2013 season.

Dawson played in a backup role last year for the Bulldogs, but with the tremendous turnover on defense he should be one to watch. Behind the scenes Bulldogs partisans are hopeful that the Memphis native will be able to move right in to the starting cornerback spot to complement Damian Swann, who will be the leader of the secondary.

He was named the "Newcomer of the Year" in 2012 on a defense that was loaded with veterans, and his best game came at Missouri when he had three tackles. Dawson will also have special teams responsibility.

This is the season is the reason it was so important to get Dawson signed late in the 2012 cycle. His time has come – now he has to be steady.
