Gaillard's all Georgia

Lamont Gaillard committed to Georgia over the summer and he felt right at home over the weekend while in Athens. He knows his future home is Athens...

Lamont Gaillard had an impressive offer list when he committed to the University of Georgia. He spent time in Athens one time and it quickly moved UGA up his list.

During his third unofficial visit, Gaillard committed to the Dawgs and he knows Athens is where he belongs.

"My future home is Georgia," Gaillard said Monday as he left Athens. "Georgia will be my school, I am not changing my mind, and everything there is right for me."

Gaillard took his official visit to Georgia last weekend and he got to see one of the top SEC games over the past decade.

He couldn't believe the atmosphere.

"It (Inside Sanford Stadium) was more that what I expected it to be. I got so excited out there during the game that I was ready to jump out there and play. The noise was crazy, the crowd was so loud from start to finish, and I couldn't help but think about playing there next year. It was exciting."

The Dawgs are recruiting the 6-foot-3, 315 pound senior out of Fayetteville (N.C.) Pine Forest to play multiple positions.

He likes that.

"I just want to get on the field, so I don't care where I play. I sat down and watched film with Coach [Chris] Wilson and he showed me how he wants to use me at end and at tackle. They want to move me around and I like that. I think I will fit into Georgia's scheme perfectly."

For now, Gaillard is focused on his senior season. Pine Forest is 6-0 and he has fought through double and sometimes triple-team blocks to tally over 30 tackles, six tackles for loss, and two sacks.

After he finishes up his high school career at Pine Forest, he knows where he will be. He knows he made the right decision.

"I love it at Georgia," said Gaillard. "My mom, brother, and sister were with me on my visit and they love it too. I cannot wait to be part of the Georgia program."

Gaillard is the No. 3 defensive tackle in the country on Scout.
