Randolph's Recruitment

Scout.com and Fox Sports Next sat down with Tallahassee (Fla.) Lincoln High School head coach Yusuf Shakir to get an update on the recruitment of senior cornerback Kendall Randolph.

Tallahassee (Fla.) Lincoln High School cornerback Kendall Randolph is having an outstanding senior season and has a host of BCS schools actively recruiting him. Heading into this season the 5-foot-11 and 180-pound senior had over two dozen offers. While some of the schools he had offers from prior to the season have started to fill up with commitments Randolph still has an impressive list of schools pursuing him according to Lincoln head coach Yusuf Shakir.

At some point in his recruitment Randolph has held offers from Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida State, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisville, Maryland, Miami (Fla.), Michigan State, Ole Miss, North Carolina, North Carolina State, South Carolina, Stanford, TCU, Tennessee, UCF, UCLA, Vanderbilt and Washington State. The list of offers may not be as long as it once was but it still features some of the best programs in the country.

"Louisville, Stanford, Vanderbilt, South Carolina, North Carolina are all still on Kendall," said Coach Shakir of some of the schools actively recruiting Randolph.

One SEC school was actually in Tallahassee two weeks ago to check at the speedy defender.

"Vandy was here last week and they were checking in on him and some of our juniors," said the head coach.

Randolph has had a productive senior season on the field. From his cornerback position Randolph has been credited with 35 tackles including 29 solo stops. The senior has also intercepted one pass, broken up six others and has a recovered fumble to his credit.

"He is having a solid season for us," continued Coach Shakir.
