Dawg Post's look at this day in the history of Georgia athletics.


Georgia basketball legend Dominique Wilkins scored 28 points and snagged seven rebounds en route to a 71-49 victory over Mississippi State. The Bulldogs would go on to finish 16-10 and reach the semifinal round of the NIT Tournament that year. Shortly thereafter, Wilkins was selected by the Utah Jazz with the third overall pick in the 1982 NBA Draft.


Three-star Clarke Central offensive lineman Randall Swoopes and five-star Americus Sumter tight end Leonard Pope commit to Georgia.


Four-star Tarboro (NC) running backTodd Gurley commits to Georgia.


Georgia finishes ranked No. 9 in the final AP poll for 2014 season. Although the Bulldogs have finished ranked in the top ten of the AP poll 21 times, they have have finished the season ranked No. 9.
