Should Georgia worry about Terry Godwin?
Godwin did visit Auburn and I would not be surprised to see him visit Alabama a couple other schools in the coming months. With that said, it will be tough to beat Georgia here. Not only is he a Dawg, but his parents are as well. His mother and father were very happy with his Georgia commitment and the UGA staff will continue to recruit him and show him he is important to this class. I still like the Dawgs' chances.
Who could be the next commitment?
This is always a tough question, but like I said an one of my Insider reports, I will go with Justin Young. The defensive lineman out of Grayson has a motor and frame the UGA coaches really like. He is built more like an end now, but could play some three-technique as well. He plays hard, Tracy Rocker likes him a lot, and he knows he is wanted at Georgia. He grew up a Dawg fan and Rocker and McClendon have stayed in contact with him since UGA offered.
Any surprising offers to you so far?
I would have to say the dual-threat quarterback offers have surprised me some. That is not the norm for Georgia, who likes to recruit the pure pocket passers to be their quarterback. But, are the offers only as a quarterback? Both Kai Locksley of Maryland and Lamar Jackson of Florida can play other skill positions. Both are great athletes who could project as wide receivers or safeties. Both prospects have confirmed with Scout that they were offered as quarterbacks though, so this is something to watch.
What is the biggest need in this class?
It is on the line of scrimmage. It could be defensive ends, true ends, that are explosive, but for me, it is those true offensive tackles. UGA has missed on guys like Laremy Tunsil and Avery Young in recent years, and true tackles are a need. Chuma Edoga is a top target due to his talent and him being in the home state. UGA has recently offered Matthew Burrell (Virginia), Bailey Sharpe (Georgia), and Sterling Jenkins (Pennsylvania), so they are targeting some top tackles. Well over a dozen tackles have been offered already this cycle with others still under evaluation.
Do you see the Dawgs signing another five-star?
Yes. Any guesses who I am going to say? You guessed it, Trenton Thompson. The five-star defensive tackle out of Albany (Ga.) Westover was offered by Georgia over a year ago, he has a great connection with Mike Bobo, and the Dawgs have been his leader since it became the first school to offer. UGA needs to get Thompson back on campus soon and it looks like he will be in town for a spring practice.
