"This was our last day in pads during the spring and I thought the guys gave a great effort considering we have already had our spring game," Bulldog head coach Mark Richt said. "We had 20 mile-an-hour winds to deal with today and I thought our guys did pretty well with that challenge."
Georgia will host its yearly Pro Day on Wednesday as 15 former Bulldogs, along with Georgia State's Brent McClendon, will have the opportunity to work out for NFL coaches, scouts and personnel. This event is leading up to the 2014 NFL Draft, which arrives on May 8-10.
The Bulldogs also announced their annual spring awards on Tuesday. On offense, junior C David Andrews was named the MVP, senior WR Chris Conley was awarded the Coffee County Hustle Award, redshirt sophomore OG Greg Pyke was named the Most Improved Player, senior QB Hutson Mason was awarded the Hugh Hendrix Memorial Award and redshirt sophomore WR Kenneth Towns was named the Outstanding Walk-On.
For the defense, senior ILB Ramik Wilson was the MVP, sophomore DB J.J. Green earned the Coffee County Hustle Award, junior OLB James Deloach was named the Most Improved Player, sophomore OLB Leonard Floyd earned the Hugh Hendrix Memorial Award and redshirt freshman CB Aaron Davis earned the Outstanding Walk-On award.
Georgia has its final spring practice scheduled for Thursday afternoon.
