Patiently Waiting

SUWANEE, Ga. - Tomon Fox is feeling this whole recruiting thing out.

The 6-foot-3, 205-pound defensive end out of Collins Hill has his eye on two schools right now, but you can bet things will be wide open for him soon.

Fox currently has Clemson and Miami at the top of his short list, but he's on the lookout for offers from the in-state SEC school - Georgia.

The 2016 defender has visited Athens and says he likes the campus, but it has to rival Clemson at the moment. He's keeping in close contact with the coaches at Georgia, too, though.

"I try to keep in touch with the defensive coaches," Fox said.

Fox runs track in the offseason to keep in shape, but also has outside training to get the edge. Now that his track season has come to a close, Fox can focus on one of his biggest goals for every football season - beating rival Peachtree Ridge.

"We beat them (last season)," Fox said.

Fox was referring of course to Collins Hill's 35-28 victory over Peachtree Ridge in Suwanee this past season. In that game Fox faced off against Orlando Brown - a former Peachtree Ridge offensive tackle and Oklahoma commit.

"He's big," Fox said.

Brown, as some may have heard, made a last-minute flip from Tennessee to Oklahoma. Had he not, there would be a possibility of the two rivals to suit up in orange one day. Fox has an offer from Tennessee.

Along with the Vols, Fox also has offers from Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Wake Forest and West Virginia.

Fox has a long summer ahead of him before he faces off against the Lions again.
