Huge Offer for 2017 LB

ATHENS - The 2014 Mark Richt Camp was a proving ground for younger prospects.

And 2017 Vidalia LB Nate McBride did just that - leaving Athens and heading back down south to onion country with an offer from the Bulldogs.

"it was truly a blessing," McBride said of the Georgia offer. "Coach Eckler took me over to Coach Richt, and he shook my hand and told me that my position coach and defensive coordinator and myself all think that I did a great job today and that I was good enough to be a Georgia Bulldog. He also told me that he was offering me a scholarship."

Why?

"They liked my speed and agility," he said.

The offer is McBride's third - South Carolina and Georgia Tech also offered the rising sophomore.

"I like (Georgia's) coaching staff and the facilities. Really all three schools that have offered me had great coaches and facilities also."

The 6-2, 208-pound prospect said he ran a 4.5-second 40-yard dash - a very good number for a linebacker. That's why the Bulldogs were eager to offer such a young prospect an offer.

"It feels great to have a college to be so interested enough to where they come up to me and say we would like you to play for us," McBride said. "I grew up watching all college football, and being from Georgia I grew up watching Georgia and really all college teams."
