Dawg Post Top 25: #16 Sterling Bailey

Dawg Post counts down the top 25 players in Silver Britches for the 2014 season.

16. Sterling Bailey, DL

101: Sterling Bailey started the first nine games of the 2013, and had a great game against South Carolina (ten tackles and a sack). But that was his most productive game of the year. By the time the end of the season rolled around his production dropped off – he had four tackles in the final five games of the year.

Days Gone By: Bailey was a part of the Dream Team of 2011. He redshirted his first year in Athens and didn’t play much in 2012. But he played good enough to get a starting spot in 2013.

Legge’s Thoughts: That start to the season shows just how good Bailey can be. This fall he’s going to have to fight his way back into the starting lineup, but he’s going to be playing a lot for sure in 2014. John Taylor’s play could determine how much Bailey is on the field. Taylor has had a good offseason, so Bailey will have to counter with a good fall. Either way, Georgia is in good shape on the defensive line.
