The Opening: Jonathan Ledbetter

Jonathan Ledbetter was offered by Alabama late in January and he committed that same day. He has visited other schools since and he still exploring his options...

Many coaching staffs would worry when their commitments visit other schools or stay in regular contact with other coaches.

Alabama is in that situation and their staff is not worried -- in fact, they are encouraging Jonathan Ledbetter to explore his options.

"I am in regular contact with the Alabama coaches and they are fine with me visiting other schools," said Ledbetter.

"They know what I am doing and they are fine with that. We have talked about it and I will be over there visiting again soon."

Some have talked about Auburn being a school in the mix for Ledbetter, but that is not the case right now. It is two other schools.

"Auburn has not really been on me that hard in a while. Florida really has lately and Georgia has too. I hope to visit Florida soon. I know I will be at Georgia with Chauncey Rivers (Georgia commit) for Dawg Night."

The 6-foot-4, 271 pound defensive lineman out of Tucker, Ga. could make a final decision later this summer.

"I want to shut it down soon, reflect on things, and then see how I am feeling," said Ledbetter. "I just have to see where my heart is."

Ledbetter is the No. 12 defensive tackle and No. 109 overall prospect on Scout.
