ATHENS - Georgia got a commitment from Coral Gables ATH Shaquery Wilson on Dawg Day.

2015 Coral Gables ATH Shaquery Wilson made the call on Friday that he would be choosing Georgia.

“I have been talking to my coaches about committing to Georgia for a little while now,” Wilson said. “Since they offered me in June, I have been thinking about Georgia. I am going with the Dawgs.”

A three-star who could play cornerback or wide receiver at the college level, Wilson seems more confident on the defensive side of the ball – where championships are won and money is made.

“The main coach I talk to is Coach (Jeremy) Pruitt,” Wilson said. “We have a good relationship and he has talked to me about playing cornerback or wide receiver, but I am feeling cornerback right now. That’s the position that he coaches, and he feels that I can be a millionaire at that position.”

Georgia offered Wilson in June, and ever since that day it has been near clear to the 6-foot-1.5, 190-pound athlete that he would be wearing the silver britches one day soon.

He feels confident in Georgia’s coaches, who have put in the work to land the rising senior out of Florida.

“I have been feeling Georgia the most for a while now,” Wilson said. “The coaches hit me up a lot on Twitter. They call me when they can, and I have a great relationship with the coaches.”
