The Tigers have done an excellent job recruiting the five-star defensive tackle and he feels comfortable at AU.
"I like Coach Gus Malzahn, Coach [Rodney] Garner, and the players over here," Thompson said Saturday night. "I was with Montravius Adams today and we always have fun. He is real with me and he wants what is best for me."
Auburn hopes it is best for Thompson, the No. 1 defensive tackle in the country on Scout. He knows he is wanted there.
"Auburn has showed me how I can get on the field early and how I can help their team early. Playing time is important to me and they have some defensive linemen leaving, so I see that.
"The coaches always treat me well and the players do to, so it is cool to be here."
The 6-foot-3, 290 pound star at Westover has Malzohn's Tigers high on his list. That has not changed.
Thompson visited Georgia on Friday and he spent time with the UGA coaching staff and a few players there too. He may take one more visit before shutting it down for the summer.
Alabama is still a school I would like to visit again soon," said Thompson. "I will just have to see.
"If I get there next week, that will be it for the summer. It is getting close to school and the start of the season."
