Fast Five: Dawg Night Ramifications

The industry leader in recruiting gives you rapid-fire takes.

- Interest is Legit

Emanuel McGirt had a good camp showing and the Dawgs want him. He spent the night in Athens, Ga., he toured the campus Saturday, and he loved it. He loved it so much that he would like to get back to watch a practice in August. If not that soon, then he could be there for a game in September. McGirt is still a UNC commit, but UGA gave him something to think about. If he does public interviews, he will likely give the right answers, but I'm hearing Georgia is on his mind.

- Staying Together

Jonathan Ledbetter is a big target for the Dawgs, but he wants his brother with him on the next level. Joseph worked out as a TE at Dawg Night and he was not bad. He showed good strength and it could get interesting with him and UGA. Richt watched him, Pruitt watched him, and of course Lilly worked with the older Ledbetter. Jonathan and Joseph hope to play ball together and the two stayed the night in Athens, Ga. to hang out with players and spend more time with coaches. UGA is still trending in a big way for Jonathan right now, so again, stay tuned...

- More 2016 Commits?

It could happen again before the season kicks off... Cleveland and Eason will attract others to UGA. It is like Trenton Thompson would if he committed to the Dawgs in the 15 class. UGA is trending with several 2016s right now too... More names could be added to the 2016 commitment list sooner than later.

- Early Jump

Georgia offered not one, but two 2018 prospects Friday... We have talked a lot about Tyreke Johnson, a CB out of Jacksonville Trinity Christian, but Christian Tutt is another one. He is a 5-11, 171 pound CB out of Thomson right outside Augusta. He is related to former Thomson star and Georgia Bulldog, Danny Verdun-Wheeler. Tutt is a smooth athlete who was on the Top Performer list for Dawg Day. He has a lot of interest in the Dawgs. He spoke with Richt and Pruitt about the offer.

- On a Roll

The next six weeks could be HUGE for UGA... Several targets could decide to announce their decisions before the end of August. Before UGA plays Clemson, it could be near 20 commits in the 2015 class, if things fall right. Fall camp is around the corner, recruiting for multiple classes is heating up, and it is something you want to follow closely moving forward.

Will post more about the new commits and my thoughts on them as prospect in the near future.
