A junior college prospect is expected to join a position of strength at Georgia, thanks to news received by the coaching staff on Sunday night.
The Bulldogs landed the verbal commitment of Chris Carson, a junior college running back that formally starred at Parkview High in Lilburn. He was recently offered a scholarship and visited the campus this weekend.
“I committed to Georgia because I felt comfortable with them,” Carson said.
Listed at 6-foot-1 and 200 pounds, Carson held offers from Iowa State, Cincinnati and others. Carson plays for Butler C.C. in Kansas. Carson said he intends to enroll in January.
“I am a strong back that will break tackles and get tough yards,” he said. “I am tough to tackle.”
The Bulldogs currently have 16 pledges in the 2015 class, ranked No. 13 in the country according to Scout.com.
