Catching Kiper's Praise

ATHENS - Leonard Floyd was the highest rated Bulldog on Mel Kiper's list of draft prospects.

ESPN’s Mel Kiper released his top 20 NFL Draft prospects for 2015 and two Georgia players made the cut.

Tailback Todd Gurley landed at No. 19 while outside linebacker Leonard Floyd nearly cracked the top 10 at No. 11. The sophomore outside linebacker started eight games in 2013 and was voted to the SEC All-Freshman Team and named to Phil Steele’s Freshman All-America First team.

"Leonard has got the chance to be a very productive guy,” Mark Richt said. “He's a very talented guy who loves football and practices and plays hard. He's got a very natural football I.Q. It all comes very natural to the guy.”

As a freshman Floyd logged 55 tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss and led Georgia with 6.5 sacks.

“You don't have to give him rep after rep after rep for him to get it,” Richt said. “You just kind of get him the concept and get him to understand what you're trying to get done and he seems to pick it up quicker than most."
