Davis' 'Spectacular' Interception

ATHENS - The first interception for Georgia under new defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt stood out to head coach Mark Richt.

Redshirt freshman Aaron Davis jumped a pass intended for Clemson’s Germone Hopper Saturday and leaped to snag it for the walk-on’s first college pick in his first college game.

“It was definitely exciting,” said Davis, who started at safety and also played cornerback. “I was disappointed in myself that I fell. I ended up falling and tripping, but it was definitely an exciting moment. I was glad that I could make a play for my team.”

Richt called the interception “beautiful.”

He said that he “couldn’t remember the last time we had a nice interception like that. That was athletic, and I thought it was a spectacular play.”
