Dawgs Get Vandy on SECN at 4 PM

ATHENS - Georgia will play an afternoon game in Sanford Stadium for the third week in a row against on Oct. 4 against Vanderbilt.

This time it will be late afternoon. The Bulldogs and Commodores will have a 4 p.m. kickoff on the SEC Network, it was announced Monday.

The game is Georgia’s homecoming.

Georgia plays its second straight noon game this Saturday at home against Tennessee. That game is on ESPN.

Michel gets SEC honor

As might be expected after rushing for 155 yards and three touchdowns on only 10 carries Saturday, Michel was named Monday as SEC freshman of the week.

Michel, from Plantation, Fla., had a 75-yard run and touchdown runs of 6, 8 and 18 yards and also had a five-yard reception.

Michael is Georgia's second-leading rusher with 206 yards and averages 10.3 yards per carry.

Former Georgia quarterback David Greene was at the football facility on Monday to film his “SEC Film Room” show for the SEC Network with Mark Richt and Hutson Mason. The show will air Wednesday at 8 p.m. The SEC Network’s traveling pregame show “SEC Nation” will air from Georgia’s Myers Quad Saturday at 10 a.m.

Saturday’s captains: running back Todd Gurley, Mason, outside linebacker Jordan Jenkins and punt returner Reggie Davis.

Tennessee dismissed freshman tailback Treyvon Paulk for a “personal conduct issue.” He hasn’t gotten a carry this season. The Milton High product was involved in a domestic violence incident over the weekend, according to the Chattanooga Times-Free Press.
