This was just finalized on Thursday.
Darius Slayton started off the week debating whether he wanted to be at Georgia or South Carolina for a college game on Saturday September 27. As he started to lean towards UGA, the school closer to home, making the visit official came into the conversation.
"I called them (Georgia) about it (Official visit) earlier in the week," said Slayton. "Coach [Mark] Richt called me Wednesday and we discussed it. It took a while to get scheduled and it was finalized early on Thursday."
This will be Slayton's second visit to Georgia, his first of the five allotted official visits, so could this be the only one he takes?
"I am getting close to a decision. I do not know a date or anything, but I am close. It (Commitment) will happen here soon."
The Scout 300 athlete out of Greater Atlanta Christian has narrowed his focus to a smaller amount of schools, but he is not interested in reveling who those are. Georgia is one, South Carolina is another, and most feel Auburn is very much in the race as well. LSU has been another school mentioned as a contender not too long ago.
Slayton has praised Georgia each time he has stepped foot on their campus. He likes their coaches, he likes the environment there, and he will go back this weekend to see if there are anymore questions he needs answers to as he closes in on his big decision.
"Georgia is a great place," said Slayton. "I am looking forward to this visit -- It should be fun."
The Dawgs are recruiting Slayton, a four-star cornerback on Scout as an athlete. The 6-foot-1, 182 pound senior is off to a great start this season where he has scored touchdowns on offense and defense.
