Dawg Post Tuesday Practice Report

ATHENS, Ga. --- The No. 13-ranked Georgia Bulldogs practice in full pads for more than two hours on Tuesday afternoon, their most physical workout of the week in preparation for this Saturday's homecoming game against Vanderbilt.

"It's Tuesday, workday," head coach Mark Richt said. "I don't think there's any doubt we got better. Considering it was a little bit warmer than it has been the past few days, everyone fought through that and we got done exactly what we needed to get done today."

Richt and selected players took part in the Bulldogs' gameweek press conference earlier on Tuesday where they talked about the matchup with the Commodores.

"Coach (Derek) Mason is obviously in his first year (there) coming from Stanford," Richt said. "(He was) the defensive coordinator there. You can see a lot of the Stanford print on what’s going on there at Vanderbilt. On defense, they have now become more of a 3-4 base. They do have some long guys at that outside position. (Stephen) Weatherly looks a lot like our young defensive ends. They have a kid named (Jonathan) Wynn who is just exactly what you’re looking for, the kind of Leonard Floyd looking guys and Lorenzo Carter types. They’re kind of changing their defensive personnel a little bit."

Kickoff for Saturday's contest between the Bulldogs (3-1, 1-1 SEC) and the Commodores (1-4, 0-3 SEC) has been set for 4:01 p.m. The game will be televised on the SEC Network, with Dave Neal calling play by play, Andre Ware serving as color analyst and Laura Rutledge handling the sideline reporter's role.
