“There was a lot of positive energy out there today; the scout team gave great effort, and that gives us a chance,” Richt said.
“They will definitely play if there’s no setbacks on Thursday; we’re planning on them playing,” Richt said. “They’re not perfectly polished, but I’m reporting they will play. Now how much? I don’t know. It depends on their stamina. Their legs seemed to be fresher than the rest of the team.”
In his career, Mitchell has caught 85 passes for 1,237 yards and eight touchdowns while Scott-Wesley has registered 22 receptions for 446 yards and three touchdowns.
Richt was asked about the quarterback play of senior Hutson Mason who is now 4-2 as a starter including 3-1 this season.
“The quarterback position is a position of pressure,” Richt said. “There’s a lot of responsibility. I think he’s put pressure on himself to be perfect, but at some point, you have to relax and play the game. You have to trust your receivers. You have to trust your protection and play like you practice. He needs to enjoy the moment and go play ball. He’s looked good this week in practice.”
Kickoff for Saturday's matchup between the Bulldogs (3-1, 1-1 SEC) and the Commodores (1-4, 0-3 SEC) is set for 4:01 p.m. The game will be televised on the SEC Network.
