On Monday, Richt announced the Bulldogs' captains for this week, including defensive end Ray Drew.
"Ray has definitely gotten better each week," defensive line coach Tracy Rocker said after practice. "As a staff on Sunday, Coach Richt asks us who should be captain. Defensively, we chose Ray. He's well deserving off it. He's put in the work in to earn it."
Richt discussed the significance of Saturday's matchup during the Bulldogs' gameweek press conference earlier in the day on Tuesday.
"Well, it's big, for sure," Richt said. "Mathematically it doesn't assure anybody…it doesn't assure the winner of winning the league and it doesn't assure the loser of not winning the East. But the more games we play, the more valuable they are. If we lose, we're, in essence, three games behind Missouri. That's pretty tough to overcome. They'd have to lose three times to give us a chance. We don't want to think about that. We want to try to get this thing and not have to worry about somebody getting beat."
Saturday's game, which will be broadcast nationally by CBS, will kick off at approximately 12:00 p.m. ET.
