The latest on QB plans

ATHENS - Georgia’s quarterback plan for Missouri could include a similar role for backup Brice Ramsey, who got one first half series against Vanderbilt.

“I wouldn't call it a rotation,” Richt said. “I would say that even last week we were committed to let Brice play a series in the first half.  That was kind of it.  If we move forward with that type of thinking, it would probably be very similar. ...To me, a QB rotation is more of a two series. You go two and then you go two. Or 2-1, 2-1 whatever where you're truly rotating throughout the game. It was just more of an opportunity to get Brice's feet wet.”

Starting quarterback Hutson Mason is trying to zero in on the snaps he does get.

“It’s only human nature to worry about how many reps is this guy getting or what are the coaches thinking here,” Mason said, “instead of worrying about what I can do and the product that I can put on the field that can help our team win. I’m trying to have zoom focus as far as what I need to do to prepare.”

Offensive coordinator Mike Bobo said Mason was told the Monday of the Vanderbilt game week about the plan to use Ramsey and responded well to that pressure.

Bobo was noncommittal on whether Ramsey will play again in the first half against Missouri.

He said Ramsey was used against Vanderbilt “because we needed to see if we could get something going, get him in there and see what he could do."
