In-State LB Feels Like a Priority

Georgia offered Nate McBride a scholarship at the Mark Richt Camp in June and the four-star sophomore linebacker has been to two games in Athens this season...

Nate McBride was back in Athens, Ga. Saturday to see Georgia beat Vanderbilt and the Dawgs are showing him early that he is a priority for them.

Only a sophomore, McBride is a four-star on Scout, and he has been offered a scholarship by Florida, Georgia Tech, and South Carolina along with Georgia. He likes what he sees between the hedges.

"It was great [Saturday], the first thing we did was go up to Coach [Mark] Richt's office to talk with him. He asked how we (Father and Nate) were doing, if I was doing good in school, and it was cool," said McBride.

"At the game, we got to go on the sideline before the game to see the players warming up. Then we got to go to the stands to watch the game and I liked it -- it was set up great."

The immediate meeting with Mark Richt, the attention from the other coaches on the UGA staff, and the early offer from the in-state Bulldogs has put Georgia in a good spot with one of the top sophomores in the state.

"Georgia is high on my list," said McBride. "I very much feel like a priority for them and I really like the character and the coaches at Georgia."

McBride is a 6-foot-2, 206 pound linebacker out of Vidalia, Ga. and he could project as inside or outside on the next level.
