Dawgs Kickoff with Cats at Noon

ATHENS - Georgia run of day games will continue on Nov. 8 when the Bulldogs play at Kentucky.

The SEC East game will kick off at 12 p.m. and be shown nationally on ESPN.

CBS has a doubleheader that day that will feature Auburn-Texas A&M at 3:30 p.m. and Alabama-LSU at 8 p.m.

Georgia’s latest kickoff this season was 5:30 p.m. against Clemson in the opener. The Bulldogs play against Florida Saturday at 3:30 p.m. on CBS in Jacksonville.

    This and that

Besides the physical play, one other thing stood out to Floyd playing in his first Florida game last year. “There’s a lot of trash talk going on out there,” Floyd said. “We’ve got bad blood for ‘em. We’re going to be pretty amped up ready to play them.”

Richt was asked on his radio show about tailbacks Sony Michel (shoulder) and Keith Marshall (ankle): “I don’t know for sure if they’ll be ready this week. I would not be holding my breath on that.”

As reported in March, both teams will wear their home jerseys Saturday in this game for the first time since the 1960s. Georgia will wear red and Florida is expected to be in blue.

Georgia’s Monday practices coming off an open date are often full pads like a regular Tuesday practice, but the Bulldogs held a lighter practice for the first of the week.

Florida quarterback Jeff Driskel, benched as the starter, missed practice time last week with a sore back, Muschamp said.

Saturday’s Georgia captains: quarterback Hutson Mason, center David Andrews, cornerback Damian Swann and kicker Marshall Morgan.

Offensive tackle John Theus spent the off weekend in New Jersey at the wedding of quarterback Faton Bauta’s sister.
