Dawgs Pulling Hard for Vols

ATHENS - Don’t be surprised to hear some Georgia players singing “Rocky Top” on the way home from Saturday’s game against Charleston Southern.

The Bulldogs could use some help from Tennessee Saturday night with a win over Missouri.

If the Volunteers prevail, the Bulldogs clinch the SEC East and go to Atlanta for the league title game.

“I’m going to definitely watch that game because I’m going to be rooting for Tennessee, which is something I rarely do,” outside linebacker Leonard Floyd said. “I’m their biggest fan Saturday.”

Georgia’s game kicks off Saturday at noon. Missouri-Tennessee is at 7:30 p.m.

“I would hopefully be settled in on my lounge chair, ready to cheer for the Vols,” Georgia coach Mark Richt. “There’s no doubt about that. Whether or not I wear orange or not is still up in the air.”

Georgia is 6-2 in the SEC. Missouri is 5-1. The Bulldogs have the head-to-head tiebreaker due to its 34-0 win against the Tigers on Oct. 11.

If Missouri wins, the Tigers then become fans of Arkansas for a game on Nov 28.

Two Missouri wins wrap up the East for the second straight year.

“Hopefully we’ll have some things go our way,” quarterback Hutson Mason said ,”and we’ll be right back there in that game.”
