ATLANTA - Georgia Tech had plans to snap its four-year losing streak in the series with Georgia on Saturday, but was unsuccessful in an overtime thriller.

Georgia Tech had the momentum early, hitting Georgia where it hurt; its secondary. Play action passes took the Yellow Jackets' offense to a level it hadn't reached in recent games. The nationally 119th-ranked passing attack tried something new, and while it found early success it couldn't outscore the Dawgs in a 41-34 overtime loss.

"We had a good game plan coming in. We knew that we was going to try and hit some big pass plays and we did," quarterback Vad Lee said. "Only if we could have hit some of those plays toward the end where we could finish, but we had a good game plan. All I had to do was throw the receivers the ball and they made it happen."
