The Throwback: The Best Fit

Dawg Post is going into the vault to dig up some stories you should go back and read.

Today's Dawg Post Throwback Story of the Day features a piece from back in May, when Darius Slayton was first starting his talks with first-year Georgia defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt.


NORCROSS, Ga. - Darius Slayton grew up an LSU fan.

He's not too attached to the Tigers, though. Darius Slayton is taking time to focus on the schools that have offered him - Georgia and Auburn to be specific. The 6-foot-2, 180-pound cornerback out of Greater Atlanta Christian is drawn to the Dawgs' potential defensive success as a result of its recent addition at coordinator.

"He's a cool dude. I like Coach (Jeremy) Pruitt," Slayton said. "I definitely think he's going to have success - regardless of who goes there. If he gets the right guys I think he's going to do magic for them."

Slayton, a rising senior on the Spartans' defense, is familiar with the Athens landscape as a Georgia native. He's also familiar with Pruitt.
