Jan. 4th - This Day in Georgia History

Dawg Post takes a look back on what happened on this day in Georgia history.

January 4th

Georgia women’s basketball great Janet Harris earned SEC player of the week recognition. Just three months later, Harris would lead the Lady Dogs through the NCAA Tournament and all the way to the national championship game before falling to Old Dominion, 70-65. Harris was a four-time All-American at Georgia –– the only player in UGA basketball history to accomplish that feat. She was also the first player in NCAA women’s basketball history to post 2,500 points and 1,250 rebounds.

Five-star Washington defensive back Branden Smith commits to Georgia.
