Hall of Fame women’s basketball coach Andy Landers earned his 400th win in a 77-71 come-from-behind thriller over Tennessee. The Lady Vols, however, exacted revenge 11 weeks later by defeating Georgia, 83-65, in the NCAA Tournament’s national championship game. The Lady Bulldogs have only reached the Final Four once since (1999).


Former Georgia football coach and athletic director Vince Dooley was selected by athletic leaders around the country to chair a national summit on sportsmanship in college athletics. Since then, Dooley has founded a scholarship that he presents annually to each a male and female high school student for distinguished individual character, outstanding teamwork, citizenship and of course, sportsmanship.


Four-star Grady DB Damian Swann commits to Georgia on TV during the 2011 U.S. Army All-American Game.
