End in Sight for Jefferson

The climactic end seems near for Van Jefferson’s recruiting process.

The four-star wide receiver from Brentwood, Tenn. will likely make his final decision on Thursday, a source close to the situation told Dawg Post. The source said the Bulldogs have the momentum right now, and Georgia seems to have held off a furious rally from Ole Miss.

Van Jefferson officially visited Athens over the gala weekend of December 13th. But he left Athens and went to Ole Miss on Sunday. Later that night, after returning home from Oxford, Georgia offensive coordinator Mike Bobo visited Jefferson at his home.

The twists and turns started after the weekend. The Rebels probably surged into the lead after Jefferson’s visit to Mississippi.

This morning Jefferson said he was torn between the two schools.

“I have not decided yet if I am enrolling early or not yet,” he said Wednesday morning. “I am just praying about it. It is very close between Georgia and Ole Miss right now. It is 50-50 between those schools.”

But as of Wednesday night, the Bulldogs regained the lead with the prospect, who has been committed to them since August. Georgia is currently ranked as the No. 1 class by Scout.com.
