Dawgs Put Out New Offer

Josh Smith has been committed to Vanderbilt since the summer, but his recruiting is heating up.

But the Jeremy Pruitt and the Bulldogs offered him on Wednesday, and Josh Smith had nothing but good things to say about the news.

Georgia is a great offer, and I am excited about,” he said. “It is a great school, it has a great campus, and it is a great program.”

Smith recently also got offers from Oklahoma and Kentucky. He said that he would like to visit Oklahoma. Smith called the changing of assistant coaches at Vanderbilt “business.” So cold that leave the door open for the Bulldogs and others? That’s hard to know right now.

“I can't really say what type of interest I have in Georgia yet,” he said. “I haven't seen what all they have to offer. I am intrigued by the offer though - who wouldn't be?”

Smith said that Pruitt is after him to sign with the Bulldogs to play linebacker and for his ability to play in space.

“Coach Pruitt extended the offer to me,” Smith said. “He said that he likes my size, and length. He said that my athletic ability allows me to play in space and from sideline to sideline. He said that I am what they need at inside linebacker.”

Of note: Smith’s brother currently plays for Vanderbilt.
