Recruits React to Bobo News

ATHENS - Some of Georgia’s committed players are reacting to the news that offensive coordinator Mike Bobo has reportedly taken the head coaching job at Colorado State.

The news was relatively good for Georgia’s offensive recruits.

Callaway ATH Terry Godwin, who will likely play receiver next year in Athens, said that he was still committed to the Bulldogs on Monday night, but that he’s interested in what’s coming after Bobo.

“It doesn't change my commitment,” Godwin told Chad Simmons of scout.com. “But I really have to see who they bring in next.”

The most recent offensive commitment, GAC ATH Darius Slayton, said that he was still taking in the news of Bobo’s departure.

“I really do not know what to think right now,” he admitted. “It does not effect me right now.”

Junior college running back Chris Carson said that he was still picking the Bulldogs - as long as the offense doesn’t change.

“I just want to see who they hire next and what type of offense they run,” Carson said. “I am still committed strong to Georgia.”

But the news was mixed from Ravenwood (TN) Van Jefferson, who has been thinking over his commitment to Georgia… with Ole Miss being the prime competition for the Bulldogs.

“It does matter a little if Bobo leaves Georgia,” he said.
