ATHENS - Odell Thurman makes a 99-yard interception return during No. 7 Georgia's 26-7 win over Auburn at Sanford Stadium on November 15, 2003. It is the second-longest interception return in school history. (Dean Legge/Dawg Post)
There the ball sits in the air. I really was not a great photographer by any stretch of the imagination at the time. I had no idea what I was doing. But in photography you can get a little lucky along the way. What's happening here is that Auburn is furiously trying to cut Georgia's lead to five with only a few minutes to go. But Jason Williams' pass, which is headed to Cadillac Williams, is popped into the air. Odell Thurman takes the ball nearly the length of the field to end the game. Thurman always had a troubled time before, during and after Georgia. But this was one of the moments that people will always remember about him. He really was outstanding when he was himself.
