ATHENS – One of Georgia's highest-profile 2011 recruits has hardly been heard from so far during his freshman season.
Outside linebacker Ray Drew could have the opening now to get more snaps since the Bulldogs won't have Cornelius Washington, its sacks leader, for at least the next two games.
"With good hope," Drew said. "Any snap is a good snap."
Washington is suspended after his DUI arrest early Sunday morning in Commerce.
Georgia lists "TBD" as its starting OLB on its Tennessee depth chart in place of Washington.
Chase Vasser, Reuben Faloughi and Drew are the top candidates to see more playing time. Vasser, who has started two games, has the skill set to drop into coverage while Drew is considered more of a pass rusher.
"We all feel like we're pretty good at pass rushing, but Cornelius is a phenomenal pass rusher," Vasser said of the redshirt junior who has 3 ½ sacks. "That's definitely going to hurt not having him there."
