Pruitt, Schottenheimer Out Recruiting

Georgia’s assistant coaches are out and about, but missed out on talking with one important prospect Thursday morning.

Gainesville DB target Chris Williamson was not at school on Thursday morning when Jeremy Pruitt dropped by to see him. Pruitt met up with Gainesville coach Bruce Miller instead, and is trying to figure out if he can swing my Williamson’s house later today.

But the Pac 12’s Cal is visiting Williamson tonight at home, according to Chad Simmons, so it will be interesting to see what happens the rest of the day with Williamson.

Georgia commit (or soft commit) Van Jefferson told Simmons that new offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer is headed for his Nashville school on Friday.

“He seems cool,” Jefferson said. “We have talked a couple of times on the phone and I know he is smart.  My dad knows him well too from the NFL.”

Jefferson’s father is an assistant coach in the Tennessee Titans organization.

Brian McClendon is set to visit Langston Hughes LB D’Andre Walker. Simmons reports that Walker will likely take his official visit to Athens the final recruiting weekend of the year.

Speaking of which, Ensworth (TN) DB and Alabama commit Rico McGraw is also headed to Athens the last weekend of the recruiting calendar - one week after he visits Tuscaloosa.
