Dawgs Offer In-State OL

Georgia became the 11th school to offer one of the top offensive linemen in the Peach State Monday. He's already visited Athens three times and he wants to get back there again...

New Georgia offensive line coach Rob Sale was at Sandy Creek High School in Tyrone, Ga. early one morning last month and he had his eye on Chandler Tuitt.

During Mat Drills Sale saw Tuitt grinding, showing athleticism, and working hard to lead the Patriots prepare for another great season in 2015.

After seeing that and evaluating film, Tuitt got a scholarship offer from the Dawgs.

"I talked with Coach [Mark] Richt on the phone today (Wednesday) and he offered me," said Tuitt. "My coach told me to give Coach Richt a call, so I did, and he surprised me with the news. I cannot say I was expecting it.

"Georgia has been recruiting me for a while now, but they have not offered, so I wasn't sure if they were going to. I knew Coach Sale liked me, so it is a good offer to have now."

The 6-foot-4, 271 pound junior has been offered by most schools as an offensive guard. Sale likes Tuitt's flexibility and how low he plays.

UGA has had the three-star on campus three times, all for football games. Tuitt now wants to take a visit where he can see more than just 90,000 fans screaming inside Sanford Stadium.

"I want to check out the school, see more of what Georgia is about, and just take a normal visit there," said Tuitt. "It is pretty amazing to get an offer from Georgia, a school close to home, so I am ready to get back for another visit."

The interest in the Dawgs is there, but Tuitt currently has no favorites. He said Sale seems "cool" so far and he is looking forward to getting to know him better.

Tuitt is currently playing basketball, so he has no visits to any college scheduled.
