Georgia snags offensive line commit from Creekside HS

Aaron Dowdell, out of Creekside High School, committed to UGA on Friday.

The three-star 2016 offensive tackle received the offer from Georgia on Wednesday and decided to be a Bulldog just two days later.

“I been thinking about it ever since I got the offer,” Dowdell said. “Something told me I should just commit.”

Dowdell expressed his excitement to play under the new coaching duo of coordinator Brian Schottenheimer and Rob Sale.

"It's not too far, always been a fan," Dowdell said. "I like all the coaches. I like the type of offense"

Dowdell talked to both Sale and recruiting coach Bryan McClendon on Friday. Sale encouraged the new commit to get others to commit to Georgia and help build the program, according to Dowdell.

The 6-foot-3, 280 pound lineman drew interest from both Stanford and Alabama as well.

Dowdell will be in Athens on Feb. 21 for Junior Day and said he is excited to spend time with his future OC and line coach.
