Tyrique McGhee Commits to Georgia

Three-star Peach County DB Tyrique McGhee knew he wanted to commit to Georgia. He just wanted to sleep on it.

"After visiting the academic buildings and a thorough visit of the campus yesterday I knew I wanted to commit," McGhee said. "I just wanted to pray and sleep on it."

"I'm a dawg ?? lol," McGhee said in playful text confirming his commitment to Georgia. "I called my recruiter Coach Lilly first since I spend the most time talking to him, and then I told Coach Richt personally also."

Tyrique McGhee (6-0, 185) is considered a three-star defensive back by Scout, and he has admitted that he has previously thought about committing to Georgia in the past.

“That has crossed my mind,” he said in October. “But I think I am going to wait it out right now.”

The waiting is over, and now McGhee is the sixth commitment for Georgia’s class of 2016. He picked the Bulldogs over Kentucky, Georgia Tech, Purdue and South Carolina. McGhee is considered the fourth-best cornerback in Georgia this recruiting cycle.

"It just feels like home at Georgia," McGhee said. "I want to be a lockdown on the edges Between the Hedges lol! I love Athens."
