Brown going back to Athens

Five-star defensive lineman Derrick Brown has Georgia high on his list and he and his parents will spend Friday in Athens...

Derrick Brown has said for months that Georgia is high on his list and that has not changed.

The five-star defensive lineman out of Buford (Ga.) Lanier does not plan to announce his decision until Signing Day, but UGA is his No. 1 school right now.

He plans to get back to Athens Friday.

"I want to get over to Georgia to talk with the coaches and see the academic department," said Brown. "Multiple coaches (Tracy Rocker, Jeremy Pruitt, Thomas Brown, and Mark Richt) are recruiting me and they are recruiting me every day, so I want to get back over there to see them."

Brown said the UGA staff has made him feel like a priority for 2016 and he likes that feeling. He also likes the feeling he has when he is around the coaches and on the UGA campus.

"It is a place I can see myself spending the next 3-4 years at," said Brown of Georgia. "It is not far from home, it has a great business school, and it is one of a few places I can see myself at right now."

Auburn is a school also high on Brown's list and plenty of others are still under consideration, but Georgia has put itself in a good position with the 6-foot-4, 309-pounder.

"I really do not have any questions for Georgia right now. My parents may on Friday, but I really do not know. They have really recruited me well and I really like the coaches a lot."

Scout ranks Brown as the No. 2 defensive tackle and the No. 4 overall prospect.
