Michael Adams and Vince Dooley suspend men's basketball coach Jim Harrick and declared Chris Daniels and Rashad Wright, both starters, academically ineligible.

''We found further information that now confirms academic fraud in that course,'' Dooley said. ''Additional information now has unfolded where there is unethical conduct also, two of the most serious findings that are involved with the N.C.A.A. And because of the seriousness, we agreed that our basketball team should not participate in the S.E.C. tournament or the N.C.A.A. tournament.''

UGA junior Jennifer Dahlgren won the weight throw title at the 2006 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships in Fayetteville, Ark. Dahlgren, a native of Buenos Aires, Argentina, clinched the win with her first throw of 75 feet, 6.75 inches and then launched a throw of 78-10.50 on her final throw of the meet, which was the second-longest throw in NCAA history.
