Sony Michel: On the Record

ATHENS - Sony Michel speaks with media following Georgia's first day of Spring football practice.

Q: How was the first day of practice?

A: It was a great practice. It was an up-tempo practice. We’re learning a new system, but for the first time it looked great.

Q: What’s the biggest difference right now? A: The biggest difference is the offense – going through different read keys and different plays.

Q: How has off-season conditioning helped for the spring?

A: The conditioning has got everybody prepared. I think I can speak for everybody.

Q: What’s the change from Mike Bobo to Brian Schottenheimer been like?

A: Not much of a difference - kind of similar. I guess they’re trying to keep it a little bit similar, but we adjust well. I haven’t seen too much of a difference.

Q: How does Keith Marshall look out there?

A: Keith is doing great. He’s 100 percent. He’s going full speed. He’s another back we’ve got to compete against – another great back.

He trimmed down a little bit. We were just talking about that in the locker room, but he’s lightweight, he’s moving fast and he’s moving good.

Q: What’s different about the new offseason conditioning?

A: It’s fast tempo with less breaks. We don’t have as much breaks. More of it is mental.

Q: What are you seeing from the quarterbacks?

A: All the quarterbacks out there did great. It’s a big competition. It’s going to be a hard call for the coaches.

They all competed well. They all did a great job. I don’t have a favorite right now. They’re all doing great.
