Reggie Carter: On the Record

ILB Reggie Carter speaks with media following Georgia's second spring football practice.

Q: How’s everything looking on the field?

A: Everything is looking good; a lot of energy in practice and everybody’s looking good. You’ve got the threes doing good, the ones doing good and the twos. I really love the energy out there.

Q: What’s the most fun part about spring for you?

A: The competition. The competition is the best part about spring. Just getting out there cause it’s been a rough offseason. It’s been a really really good offseason.

Q: How rough? A: Everybody’s been putting in work the whole first half with the winter workouts.

Q: Is the strength and conditioning rough?

A: It’s a good workout – a different workout. And we responded good.

Q: With some older linebackers gone, what kind of opportunity do you see for yourself?

A: The position is up and everybody’s got a chance and you’ve got to seize the moment.

I’m competing with everybody and then you’re competing with yourself. Everybody is competing with himself. Competition brings out the best in you. First you’ve got to compete with yourself and be the best you can be every day.

Q: What are you working to improve individually?

A: Being more vocal and being a smarter, more physical player.

When other guys leave it’s like you’ve got to be a more vocal leader.

Q: Who were some of those leaders for you?

A: Of course Ramik (Wilson) and Amarlo (Herrera). Really everybody taught me something – not just those two.

They were just up here for pro day and all of us talked and hung out and I’m just wishing them the best at the next level.
